Senior Year
In the fall semester of the senior year, the student must enroll in either
or in
ECO 449 - Economics Honors Thesis I as agreed on with the faculty director. In the fall, the candidate must demonstrate sufficient progress to the Economics faculty to be allowed to continue with the Honors Thesis. This requires a minimum of a well-developed topic, a comprehensive review of the literature, and evidence that sufficient data is available to conduct empirical work, as demonstrated in writing and through an oral presentation to the Economics faculty.
In the spring semester of the senior year, the student must enroll in ECO 450 - Economics Honors Thesis II in which the candidate must complete a thesis paper and make an oral presentation to the Economics faculty in accordance with the Department’s timetable.
Successful completion of Honors Program requires an Honors Thesis grade of B or better and a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.3. Additional details and deadlines are available from the Department.
