ITA 331 - Italy: Language and Identity

Three Credits
Fall Semester

For students who continue to study Italian after ITA 232 or who are placed beyond the Intermediate Level. ITA 331 is designed to refine and apply language skills in writing, speaking, reading and listening beyond the Intermediate level. Topics on regional and national identity serve as a context for language acquisition and grammar review. Students investigate what constitutes the Italian identity through the study of authentic texts and Internet resources. Class projects involve individual research about the history, art and popular culture of contemporary Italy. The class satisfies the language requirement and counts for the Minor in Italian Studies.

Prerequisite(s): ITA 232 , or placement.
