Introduces students to the basic principles of engineering statics. The course deals with forces acting on rigid bodies under static equilibrium. Topics include forces, force systems, moments, couples, first and second moments of areas and volumes, inertia, centroids, frames and trusses. Prerequisite(s): PHY 121
