CRM 224 - Juvenile DelinquencyThree Credits Fall and Spring Semesters
An examination of juvenile delinquency in American society. Topics included are the historical background and “invention” of delinquency, cross-cultural definitions of delinquency, theories of delinquency, social class differences, and the juvenile court system. The course critically examines the social, health, and mental health services which have been utilized by this society in attempts to prevent or “treat” delinquent behavior. Prerequisite(s): SOC 101 and CRM 201 .
