JRN 305 - God Beat: Covering Catholicism in a Secular World3 Credits Offered Fall and Spring The class introduces students to how the Catholic Church, and Catholic life in general, has changed and evolved since the Second Vatican Council. In reading from the conciliar documents and other historical sources, students see how the atrocities of two world wars and dramatic technological changes in the 20th century forced the Catholic Church to rethink its approach to interfaith relations and dialogue, the relationship of religion to politics, and the concept of human dignity.
