BIO 417 - Biology of Whales3 Credits Offered Spring Biology and natural history of cetaceans, emphasizing whales and dolphins of the western North Atlantic. Evolution, anatomy, behavior, field identification, the history of whaling and contemporary conservation problems. One evening each week, in Boston, plus weekend field trips.
Prerequisite(s)/Restriction(s): BIO 101 - Biological Principles I , BIO 102 - Biological Principles II , and one upper-level biology course Note: Marine Studies Consortium course. Students should seek registration approval from the Biology Department.
