The minor in Italian Studies is an interdisciplinary minor and requires the completion of six courses determined in consultation with the departmental minor advisor. Students can take classes in Italian as well as approved courses in other disciplines such as Art History, History, and American Studies.

Study Abroad for Italian Studies Minors

Italian Studies minors are encouraged to spend a semester abroad in an approved international program of study in Florence, Rome, or Perugia or in one of the international internships sponsored by Stonehill College.

Students minoring in Italian are required to take four courses on campus, two of which must be at the upper-level (above ITA 231-232). Students should contact Professor Daria Valentini, Program Director of Italian Studies with questions about which courses taken abroad can be counted towards the Minor.

Students may transfer back two pre-approved courses taken abroad to the minor. Additional Italian courses may be pre-approved as general electives.
