LC 306 - Learning Community: Native Peoples and Cultural Ecology

This Learning Community explores the complex and surprising links between history, religion and ecology. We will investigate connections between ecological values, spiritualities and the histories of Native peoples in their interactions with empires. Imperial expansion provokes deep cultural responses that often take unexpected and dramatic turns. Native American history and religion will be placed in this dynamic historical context. Students will be exposed to local native history and culture through field trips and guest speakers.
 

Corequisite(s): Students must also take   and   as part of this Learning Community.
Completion of this LC fulfills the general education Moral Inquiry and Learning Community requirements.
