VPN 300 - Topics in Arts Administration

This course will address various skills unique to the administrative operations of an arts organization.  Topics will be guided by such questions as, “What does it take to start a small dance company?” or “How does one function as the director of a theater company?” or “How do issues of art and law affect programming?”.  Visiting industry professionals will address the real-world application of a wide range of skill sets from grant writing and fundraising, to artistic direction and its relation to building a ‘brand’ within a given artistic discipline.

Prerequisite(s)/Restriction(s): VPN 184  is recommended, but not required.
